For Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, community mattered most. After waiting decades to realize this project, being able to serve their community effectively was the main goal.

This new ED comes at a critical time. Lahey’s Emergency Department in Burlington is treating more and more patients every day from throughout northeastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, and the patients we care for tend to have serious illnesses and injuries.

This ED is the only Level II Trauma Center in the area, meaning it has all the essential specialties, equipment and trained personnel to treat complex traumatic injuries. What was needed was a world‐class facility to match Lahey’s world‐class caliber of care.

The current ED space was built to serve 17,每年有1000名患者, but that number has now grown to more than 40,000. 新设施, four times the size of the existing emergency room, 可容纳50人,每年有000名病人就诊.
